Thumbprint Thank You

As I mentioned earlier, June is here, and that means lots of Thank You cards and gifts for all those people who do such an amazing job of helping our kids all year long. I've already showed you the cute teacher gifts we made earlier, now I'd like to show you the gifts I've made for my son's daycare provider.

My son has the most WONDERFUL daycare provider!!!  Not only does he get loving care during the day while I am at work, he also gets to interact with friends, play,  have social time, and fit lots of learning in.  He loves when they work on counting, colours, crafts, writing, and ABC's.  But mostly, he loves when he gets to be the leader for calendar time.  We made  Miss Eileen this gift from all the children  to thank her for all she does. The image of the tree is from digital set "Forever Young" and the words "Thank You, Miss Eileen" were created in MDS in Early Espresso and printed onto Whisper White card stock.  Then the kids got their fingers messy.  We used their fingers and different colours of classic ink pads to create the finger print "leaves".  Originally, we planned on getting each child to sign their own name, but most of them are too little to sign their name, so my daughter Emma helped out :)  I know Miss Eileen is going to love it.

Supplies used for this Project:

Stamp Sets:  Forever Young (MDS)

Card Stock:  Whisper White

Ink: Summer Starfruit, Lucky Limade, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Basic Black (marker)

Accessories and More:  MDS

We needed to add something special for Miss Eileen from Finn.  He will be leaving Miss Eileen's.    In September he will go on to kindergarden, and will no longer being going to daycare.  Miss Eileen is having a farewell party for him.  It will be a bittersweet day.  We have been so lucky to have such wonderful care and such a lovely person in our lives.  We made her a paper flower bouquet too.  You can find more information on the pencil vase and paper flower bouquet here
